Prepare before stepping aboard
Review the listing chronology, equipment inventory, service records, ownership history, and any available survey documentation before a viewing. Note which systems appear original, which have been upgraded, and which questions require invoices or specialist confirmation rather than a visual answer.
Once aboard, follow a consistent route from deck hardware and rigging through accommodations, machinery spaces, electrical panels, plumbing, steering, and safety equipment. Consistency makes it easier to compare several Lagoon listings without allowing presentation alone to drive the decision.
Turn observations into an inspection plan
A viewing is not a substitute for a professional survey. Its purpose is to identify whether the yacht fits the buyer and to help an independent surveyor, engine technician, or rigger understand areas that merit particular attention.
Document questions and photograph accessible equipment labels with permission. A disciplined first visit creates a clearer path to estimating refit priorities, comparing value, and deciding whether the boat belongs on the final shortlist.
